Post-Event : Singapore Fireworks Celebrations 2008

We are now moved to http://blog.fsc.com.sg

Organized by Festival Square Circle Pte Ltd (FSC), the Singapore Fireworks Celebrations closed 2008's National Day Celebrations with a big bang. And for the first time, members of the public get to purchase tickets to this spectacular event. We take this opportunity to thank everyone for the tremendous support that has made this not only a dazzling but a successful event. Tickets were sold out early and demands continue towards the opening hours of the event.

The event was staged at the Floating Gallery at the Marina Waterfront on 22nd & 23rd August 2008. After clinching the People’s Choice and Finalist of The Singapore Tourism Awards for last year’s event, this year’s Fireworks Display promised to be another breathtaking experience. To celebrate Singapore as a global destination hub and its strong friendship with communities around the world, 2 international award winning teams from France and Korea – Feerie and Woojin, were invited to showcase their cultures, through a dazzling display of fireworks blended with moving music in an amazing pyromusicals over Singapore’s night skies.

For the launch event on 22nd August Friday, Feerie took the stage at Marina Bay with their fireworks show entitled “French Romance”. On 23rd August Saturday, Woojin presented a mystical “Korean Fantasia”. The event opened in the evening from 5.30pm with a fun, interactive and exciting buildup of performances made up of exotic belly dancers, hip b-box artistes, fire-eaters, songs by rock band "Cats in the Cradle" and even an escape artiste flown in all the way from United States.

A fun-filled carnival featuring a wide array of arts, food, beverage and kids stalls also kept our audience entertained and busy leading to the main fireworks at night.

Crowds gathered on the water boats, over at the Singapore Flyer and standing at the fully booked rooms of the nearby hotels as the fireworks display blasted the skies at 9pm.

The Fireworks Display closed on a high note, mesmerizing the wide audience, both the young and the elderly, locals as well as tourists. The event drew approximately 400,000 people and attract extensive media coverage in and out of Singapore.

Thank you once again and we look forward to seeing you at the Singapore Fireworks Celebrations 2009!
